“Here was a man who would never truly be at peace with himself, because he wasn't just a man, but he wasn't a lion either. He was and forever would be the unholy combination of both.”“He deserved to die as he lived, neither here nor there, torn between human and other.”Freefall was absolutely wonder...

4.5 StarsOh Roan - our favorite grumpy PI with a sensitive side is back and he really needs to get his shit together. Some time has passed and he and Dylan are now officially official, but he's still wallowing in guilt and self loathing. To me he's a walking contradiction. He hates his lion but als...

There are many aspects that I love about Speed's writing. She has a way of developing strong and well developed characters and her descriptions pull you right into the story, but unfortunately, it’s not all good. She has a tendency to tell rather than show and merely summarizes large portions of the...

There was a definite change in pace here from the previous ones. There was some more show than just plain tell (although in all fairness, it was sort of 'told', just most the stuff was at least actually told by characters and not a disembodied narrative voice, so I wasn't left feeling so off about i...

Another great read in this series! I have to admit, while I like Dylan, I still love Paris. And Holden is basically kick ass. :)Glad I had most of these books already, as the endings just kind of end with no real resolution. On to the next!

4.5 starsThe more I read this series, the more I love it and the more I care for its characters. They are a difficult bunch of blunt and provocative, dark and sarcastic, fucked up and yet resilient smart asses. Their brush with humanity is often violent, sometimes tender, always mind-shattering and ...

Love the humour in these books..'When Roan had conquered his lethargy, he turned on the stereo and cranked These Arms Are Snakes as he forced himself to do what he had to do to keep his mi...

3.25 starsI've been reading some other reviews and there is a bit of issues with Dylan that some reviewers have. Seemingly in line with Roan, I'm feeling a bit contrary... I like Dylan a lot, and am finding difficulty in liking Roan. I feel for him and understand a lot of what he seems to be fight...

Very good m/m paranormal romantic suspense in which Roan has a particularly rough time between his excessive use of painkillers and his increasingly frequent migraines. On the plus side, he finally makes some progress in his personal life.
