I actually really liked this book. I enjoyed the utopian/dystopian world though I was a little confused at a few parts. I will pick up the next in the series.
Rating: 3 out of 5.Gameboard of the Gods is sort of what the name suggests. In this dystopian world, religion has caused the Decline, led to all sorts of bad things. So the new North America, RUNA, has decided to make the State as free from religious cults as possible by regulating them. The rules a...
I have a great deal of respect for an author who chooses to go outside of his or her comfort zone, particularly when the tried and true formula has been so ridiculously successful in the past. Richelle Mead's previous winners (and there have been many) have all featured strong, confident heroines wh...
I'm not sure if this is Mead's best book to date but it's definitely her most ambitious. Now that I've finished all 464 pages of Gameboard of the Gods, I can tell you that I liked this book. While reading though, I wasn't so sure. It was a constant now-I-love-you-now-I-don't situation.I'm going to di...
I am well known for my rushing-into-things-without-thinking.... the OH-LOOK!-It's-Richelle-Mead-I'm-going-to-request-it-immediately-ZONE. I didn't even consider this book could be and ADULT book!! DUH Karen!! Being so excited to read something new from Richelle Mead, I didn't realize it wasn't a Yo...

See more reviews at What Danielle Did NextI really, really, really wanted to love Gameboard of the Gods. I don’t have many authors on auto-buy anymore, Harry Potter is over and Lauren Oliver wrote *that* non-ending but Richelle Mead is always worthy of a fangirl wiggle so when I heard she was publis...
2.5Sadly this book didn't hit the spot for me. I'm a huge fan of Richelle Mead, and I just couldn't get into this book as much as her other works. It took me right at a week to push myself through this book. My biggest problem is I couldn't connect with the characters. Mae is hardened, and never ...
2.5 stars. I swear, I am not pulling one of those out-of-touch fan moments like when a person would want to know why The Casual Vacancy didn't read like Harry Potter part deux. I swear it. If there's one thing I've always admired about Richelle Mead, it's that she doesn't sit on her success and writ...
