Gaspar González is a writer and documentary filmmaker. His films include the national PBS release Muhammad Ali: Made in Miami and the regional Emmy-winning Hecho a Mano: Creativity in Exile. He has written for numerous publications, including The Miami Herald, Village Voice Media, and Grantland, and is the co-author of What Have They Built You to Do? The Manchurian Candidate and Cold War America. His work has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists, the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the American Cinematheque. He earned his Ph.D. in American Studies from Yale University.
