Gaston Espinosa is the Arthur V. Stoughton Professor of Religious Studies at Claremont McKenna College. He is the author or editor of eight books, 118 smaller journal articles, book chapters, and encyclopedia publications and over 160 scholarly presentations around the world, including at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Chicago, Dartmouth, Notre Dame, USC, UCLA, Northwestern, the University of Paris VII (France), Ecoles de Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (France), Science Po, CERI (France), Heidelberg University (Germany), Munster University (Germany), University of Halle-Wittenberg (Germany), Uppsala University (Sweden), Lund University (Sweden), Linkoping University (Sweden), Odessa National University (Ukraine), the Swedish Theological Institute in Jerusalem (Israel), at the National Press Club, National Public Radio, National Hispanic Presidential Prayer Breakfast with President George W. Bush, the Swedish Parliament, and over a hundred other venues. He served as past President of La Comunidad of Hispanic Scholars of Religion at the American Academy of Religion and is currently the co-editor of The Columbia University Press Series in Religion and Politics, which he co-edits with Chet Gillis of Georgetown University. In the past, he was named the Cesar Chavez Dissertation Fellow at Dartmouth College, the Andrew R. Mellon Fellow at Northwestern University, and a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Fellow at the National Humanities Center Institute for Advance Studies in Raleigh-Durham, NC. He is currently the 2016-2017 William E. Simon Fellow in Religion and Public Life in the Department of Politics at Princeton University.
