Gay Toltl Kinman has eight award nominations for her writing, including three Agatha Award nominations, and an EPPIE win. She has published several short stories in American and English magazines and anthologies; seven children's books; a Y.A. gothic novel; two adult mysteries; and over one hundred and fifty articles in professional journals and newspapers. Kinman has co-edited two non-fiction books; had several short plays produced; co-edits a book review newsletter; writes a children's themed book column; and writes book reviews for a mystery magazine. Kinman has taught law, library science and writing at San Jose State University, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State San Bernardino, and Cal State L.A. Kinman is the Schmooze Advocate for the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, Los Angeles; has been a Board member of Sisters in Crime Los Angeles; and Mystery Writers of America / Southern California Chapter. She has been a panelist and moderator for several mystery writing conferences such as Left Coast Crime, Malice Domestic, Bouchercon and others. Kinman has been a judge in writing contests for Romance Writers of America chapters; Electronically Published Internet Connection (EPIC)'s Eppy Award; Private Eye Writers of America's Shamus in all categories; and Mystery Writers of America's Edgars in the children's and Young Adult categories.
