I am happy and proud to be the author of several Latin textbooks and one teachers' resource book, Farrago Latina. Currently I am working along with Karen Moore on Latin Alive! 3. This new book will continue with the types of grammar lessons and readings found in the first two books in this series, published by Classical Academic Press. I am especially happy with book two of this series: it has readings on characters from Julius Caesar to Atilla the Hun. Many of the readings are unadapted Latin. I retired after forty-seven years of teaching Latin and English at the end of May,2010. I am now reading to my heart's content when not writing. I have recently discovered David Mitchell, whose works I heartily recommend. Black Swan Green and Cloud Atlas are my favorites of Mitchell's novels. Rutherford's Russka is a novel I recenly finished; I learned so very much from reading it, as I did from reading Shogun. I recently acquired a Kindle as a gift. I love it! I live in Austin, Texas, and have two dogs: Tacita and Chico. They are the joy of my life.
