I've always been torn between my skills of organization and managements and my need to be creative and unfortunately they don't always work well together. Forced to be practical and work to support myself, I poured my energies into building a career in the banking industry. I eventually reached the level of Senior Vice President and while I liked my work and felt pride in what I accomplished it wasn't really what I wanted to do. I wanted to write. I wanted to be published. I wanted to be famous. I retired from banking a few years ago and turn my attention to writing. I write the Claire Gulliver mystery series which is a traditional mystery. The heroine Claire Gulliver, a librarian-turned-travel-bookstore-owner, is a nice person who, somehow in her travel ventures, becomes embroiled in situations that are not nice; in fact, sometimes these situations are downright terrifying. Each of these mysteries is an independant story, but set in a different popular travel destinations. In addition to continuing the Claire Gulliver series I have completed Mud to Ashes, a mystery set in a pottery studio on the California coast, which will be available in Sept. 2009. And I am working on another series which I hope to bring out in 2010. Meanwhile, I love to hear from readers and would encourage you to contact me at my website, www.gaylewigglesworth.com or visit with me at one of the many conferences I attend each year. And someday, who knows, we may all realize I've become famous.
