Most of Geoffrey Elliott's books are mined from the rich seams of his background-- his secret agent father, his mother's Russian emigre family, his intensive Russian studies while serving in the Intelligence Corps, and his years in the City of London and Wall Street.He relishes the research -- which has recently taken him from Yakutsk to Rupert Brooke's Granchester churchyard via many long hours in libraries and archives--- almost as much as the actual book product. He retired long ago to Bermuda whose peace and quiet he and his wife appreciate; less so the occasional hurricanes .
