I enjoyed this story but it took me awhile to warm up to the hero and heroine. It was another commitment-phobic hero plot with usual behavior and too many secrets then the heroine got a backbone and the action picked up. Bar owner Rowdy keeps asking his waitress Avery to have sex with him.
This book was the classic case of "it's not you, it's me". I have really enjoy this author's work and the previous books in the series, but I found that given my newly discovered love of M/M, the M/F romance and it's semi-cardboard characters just couldn't hold my interest this time around.
Rowdy Yates had endeared himself to me in the previous books but the opening chapter hit me between the eyes. Although the character was realistic in his trust issues and commitment issues there were times when it just seemed stretched too thin. Avery Mullins a bit of a bitch at times, likeable a...
