I really enjoyed this book. I picked it up in a used bookstore because I was intrigued by the premise of 17th century murders tied to the 21st century. The story was compelling and I enjoyed the book within a book feel to it.

I greatly enjoyed this book. I honestly did not expect much, when I first began reading it, but it sucked me in very slowly, delicately, like spider silk weaving around me and cocooning me in the story. The writing style took a while to get used to, but overall that is the only complaint I have about...

I liked the idea of the 17th century leaking into this century and deaths being mirrored. I liked the ide...

OMG..this book dragged on and on..premise for the book was good..writing, not so much! I really felt the author could have done a better job in describing the events and sucking the readers in.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one! It is a mix of genre's from a gothic , mystery, supernatural, with a bit of a love story thrown in for good measure. The writing, is beautifully descriptive, almost poetic and the story interesting. I always admire an author that can weave facts with fiction and create...

THis is the best book that I have ever read that I could only rate two stars. I loved Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle, and I couldn't wait to pick up another book that might take a deeper look into Isaac Newton's alchemical experiments. The research that was done before this book was written is incr...

I ended up enjoying this book, about an woman who is summoned to finish the manuscript of an old friend who has met a mysterious death in Cambridge, though the ending was a bit vague for my tastes. Lots of info on Isaac Newton, alchemy, and Cambridge during the 17th century. Listened to the audio ...
