I'll make this short. It was alright. Most of the time I wavered back and forth between putting the book away without finishing it or just ploughing through. It really wasn't bad. It just wasn't my cup of tea. I still haven't decided if I'll read the sequel to finish the cliffhanger. Probably not.
I liked the incorporation of historical details, and going back and forth between past and present. The plot felt slow to me; the characters just OK. The main problem, I think, is the inconsistency in credulity of the characters belonging to 1763. I'm not really feeling compelled to read part two, b...
I kept seeing this at the library. It actually IS the first book? My cousin had told me that it was the second, and the library couldn't get the first because it was overseas and they weren't able to order it. Huh. I've been lied to for over a year. Jesus.
We're going to go ahead a call this a bust as a read-aloud. We started it two different times and never finished it. Oh, well. I still loved it, even if the kids didn't.
This is an absolutely wonderful book!! I love the characters and the story is done in a way that is never boring and always interesting and entertaining. I really enjoyed the history parts, too. An absolute wonderful read!! :D
