Born in 1930, from the parents' combination of two ancient Veneto families, Pinton and Giacometti, Giorgio Alberto Pinton grew up mostly in Milan, Lombardy, Northern Italy. Educated privately, had three years of philosophy at the Jesuits' Institute of Philosophy of Gallarate (Va). Leaving the Jesuits he brought himself to France, then back to Southern Italy, and finally to US of America. He taught Italian Language at the University of Connecticut, then Philosophy at the University of Hartford, and at last at the Presentenced Juvenile Center of New Haven as a teacher of the Correctional School District # 1. During that time he obtained a B.Div., a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Theology of the Renaissance, a M.Ed., and was Counselor for Religion and Philosophy at the Ethel Walker School in Simsbury. Toward the end of his service with the Connecticut State, in 1990, he began to write or precisely translate from Latin and Italian. After retirement, the art of translation became his profession.
