Extensive woods and who or what lives in them. This would be great for anyone who wants a quick read, a very quick read! Too long for a short story and not long enough for a novel. No real excitement or scary moments, just a disappointing tale, sadly.

This was a nice collection and variety of short stories for any fan of the horror genre! I normally don't read too many short stories because I hardly ever get that feeling of satisfaction that I get when reading a full length story but I read these in between work projects and I found they were jus...

Splatterpunk Fighting Back by MULTIPLE My rating: 4 of 5 stars The definition of "splatterpunk" should give an idea of what this volume entails: characterised by the explicit description of horrific, violent, or pornographic scenes. A creepy and bloody haunted hotel story that is perfect for an October read (listen). Hey, it doesn’t have to be October, you can read or listen to it anytime.I have listened to several Joe Hempel audiobooks and have enjoyed them all. I like his voice and cadence and he always paces the stories well...

This is a fast and enjoyable story which I read complete from start to finish. Li'l Ron meets the ghost of Sweet Kate under a bridge and she discloses to him that she did not actually disappear in the year 2000 (as was rumoured) but was brutally murdered. With his trusty bike Ron pieces together th...

Jason and Davey invite the new kid in town, Luke, to hang out and participate in a little game they call "Chasing Ghosts". On a dare, they ride their bikes way out to the old Cobb place. The Cobb's were a bunch of backwoods inbreds that either died off or left town. At least, that's what the rumor w...

Chasing Ghosts, the latest horror novella from Glenn Rolfe, is a perfectly good read to while away a few hours with. I suspect, though, that I would have enjoyed it even more if had been expanded into a full-length novel. The gist of this story is simple, and a common enough trope in horror storie...
