Short book and all the short dialogue lines got monotonous for me.
I'm an outlier on this; so many people love the book, but ... not me. Seemed awful familiar, if competently done. Thinking about country-noir gothic, I find Daniel Woodrell and Pinckney Benedict to be tastier poison.
