This is a short story from the Realm of the Gods. The Bright Moon mercenary faction is in the employ of the goddess Gwyd. Her forces have invaded a world owned by the god Segemet. Up until recently, the conquest of the planet was going according to plan...until Segemet hires mercenaries of his own. Stopped cold by these ferocious newcomers to the battlefield, Gwyd is overcome by her fury. Her avatar assumes the Aspect and joins the battle. Segemet does the same. Both have forbidden their armies from helping the trapped civilian population. The hope of thousands lies on the contest between fear of the gods and love of humanity in the hearts of killers. Can they be saved?
