First off, a shout out to Grim for being so darn patient with me while I was reading this! We were meant to be doing a buddy read, but I was slow. Gridlinked was the first full length Sci Fi book I've read in roughly 4 years. I had forgotten how much you really need to slow down, and absorb the worl...

The world that Neal Asher creates is one of the future: it's just as dirty and gritty as ours, it's realistic, it's violent, and it has tons of robots and AIs. Yes, yes, yes! I loved this book so damn much. I'm going to read book two now. Yes, please!

Entertaining, fast-paced. A bit predictable, but ultimately fun.

Well written, but nothing that hasn't been done before, as well or better.

Another first of the series, this one set in a world where instantaneous travel is possible and the worlds between which people travel are pretty much run by Artificial Intelligence (AI's).Our hero in Gridlinked is Ian Cormac, who is an agent for the enforcement side of his government, helping to ke...
