I personally love Tamara Allen's The Only Gold, but it was very slow in the beginning. I was reading it for Team Bingo, so pushed forward, otherwise, I might have dropped it. By 20% I was hooked, and loved the rest of it. So, it worked for me. Other historicals, besides the ones already mentioned....
