Really liked the start of this book, good ratcheting of tension but the money shot came a little too soon for me. I liked the characters, August is kind of cute and bumbling and shifting into a chinchilla made for lots of cute youtube viewing to find out what the hell they were. Sam was macho, surly...
Gumption & Gumshoes - Alex Kidwell I entered looking for this And, I don't know how, I ended with this Aside the disappointment for characterizations, I didn't found anything interesting in the plot (which, imo, is not credible) and I don't know what to think about the paranormal side. So, ...
4 stars. I loved Auggie! A chinchilla shifter! And he was so awkward and chubby and nerdy. And Sam was awesome. A bit older and grouchy, but really just a softy underneath it all. They were really just perfect for each other.Recommended :)
Love doesn't always wait for us to be ready for it.August Mendez just inherited enough money to quit the job he hates and live his dream as a detective. He's struggling, and mostly taking pictures of cheating spouses, but he's much happier now. Sam Ewing is his grumpy but sexy office landlord. He's ...
So this was super cute! I think I had a smile on my face the entire time reading.August is a 30 year old overweight chinchilla shifter. He's awkward, babbles when he's nervous, he chews on pencils, and he's a klutz. He's not happy at his current job and he's excited for the weekend when he can ha...
gormless & grumplestiltskin.one (1) babbling idiot with a nervous condition+one (1) hot but grumpy chubby chaserxa riveting, high-stakes investigation into the horrifying crime of creative accounting typical of the dark underbelly of the suburban dry cleaning industry=dullity, dafuqery, and a DNF at...
This was everything I don't like and Kidwell made it work for me. Both MCs were interesting, the mystery was predictable but again it was right for this situation and the whole shifter thing was really funny. I hope there will more from this couple!!! Please!!!!
3.75 starsAn utterly charming story. It got perhaps just a little too sweet for me around the last quarter, but Augie is so adorable I could forgive him for being constantly amazed and thrilled he'd landed Sam, his gruff, George Clooney lookalike landlord.
August, thanks to an inheritance from his grandfather, is a fairly new detective owning his own business and working his first big case. Sam is his divorced older, grumpier landlord. These two are attracted to each other but neither one of them wants to make the first move. August is self-conscious ...
Elle and I are going to read this one together, because really chinchilla shifters, how can you not read this? 4.45* I LOVE THIS BOOK Seriously, I had a smile on my face almost the whole time, it was just a great big squishy hug read. Love it, love it, love it.Ok, now that I've gotten a little ...
