I have had a passion for baby clothes as far back as I can remember and vividly recall dressing my cat in my own baby clothes that were modified to include holes for tails and ears. Once I learned to knit I was completely absorbed by the challenge of creating little clothes using a continuous strand of yarn. A move to New Zealand inspired me to design baby patterns and have them knit by local women using organic merino wool. My designs soon found the attention of Hollywood moms and Shescrafty.com was born. My love of vintage baby patterns was overflowing and a knitting pattern book was the perfect way to share my passion. I love the idea that people are creating precious little pieces that are lovingly stitched by hand and kept as a memento of baby's first years.Writing Vintage Knits for Modern Babies has been an incredible amount of fun and I love receiving emails and photos from people who have knit my patterns. Seeing the variations and the way people personalize a pattern is the best part.
