Once upon a time he was a DJ on a pirate radio ship called The Voice of Peace "from somewhere in the Mediterranean. He also was arrested for robbing the National Bank of Greece in Athens. But before his life of piracy & crime (found innocent), he came from Detroit where he learned his craft driving a Good Humor ice cream truck. HR writes now at KNX 1070 Newsradio in Los Angeles, is a folk journalist telling stories for NPR radio shows. He was an as-told-to ghostwriter for Irv Brecher, his 94-year-old partner on THE WICKED WIT OF THE WEST ("A must read" -- Leonard Maltin) ("Like spending Tuesdays with Morrie listening to Krapp's Last Tape" -- Don Foster, Two-and-a-Half-Men)-- they're pictured here at a screening of The Marx Bros' "At The Circus" (which Irv wrote)at the Aero Cinematheque in Santa Monica.
