Hi amazon.com readers! If you've stopped by because you're interested in buying one of my books, welcome! If you've stopped by because you thought you'd typed Harry Potter, I'm sorry, and have a nice day. I write full time, having given up my job (working in publishing) to do so six years ago. I live with my partner Chris (half American) and our little girl Cora (thus a quarter American, if that's how fractions work. Is that how fractions work?) in London. I am very excited about my new novel, A PLACE FOR US. It's in hardcover, and this is the first time I've been published in hardcover in the US. I'm also the most proud of this book. It is different from my other books in that it is a big, meaty saga about a family reunion in an old rambling English country house where a whole load of secrets are set to come out. I loved writing it. I knew I was writing something special and I don't normally think that! The reaction in the UK to A Place for Us has been really positive and the book was a top ten bestseller. So I am crossing my fingers and toes that it is well-liked in the States too. If you have ever tried to cross your toes you will know how hard this is and how dedicated an author I therefore must be.My Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/harrietevansbooks please come by and say hi if you'd like to get in touch, or on Twitter, @HarrietEvans OR my website, which is www.harriet-evans.com Hearing from actual real-life readers is the best part of being a writer, honestly, so please get in touch, even if to say you hate everything i've done.* Thanks for reading this! loveHarrie x*I'm lying. Please don't get in touch to say that. Thanks ever so.

Loved the cover. A hidden Cornish house with a legacy, secrets, family birthrights and lots of butterflies! Told in a dual time frame from the perspectives of Nina and Theodora (Teddy). Sometimes the toing and froing became a bit confusing, especially on a Kindle and it took a little while to get in...

The Butterfly Summer - Harriet Evans 'What's loved is never lost.' Nina lives with her parents now that she is divorced from her husband Sebastian. Nina's childhood wasn't all that easy with her father leaving her and her mother back in 1986, when he 'went on an expedition to the Venezuelan rainfore...

A below-average chick lit novel. The heroine starts off well enough but very soon gets irritating, as does her whole family. I liked the on-off boyfriend Jaden but I had no idea what he was doing with Lizzie. It's all rather ridiculous and she ends up with the wrong man who isn't very nice at all. N...

So I tend to re-read this book a lot because it is a really long book. And I have to say it is not really the romance aspect of this book that causes me to still read it. It is the totally messed up circumstances that are going on in the main character's life that for some odd reason speak to me. Ma...

A Place for Us by Harriet Evans is a portrait of the Winters family. Beneath the beautiful surface of this family are the secrets that show how tenuous a seemingly solid family structure can be. The book changes voices chapter to chapter and skips through different time periods. It's not bad; it's j...
