I will be doing some retro review of my Five Star books in the coming months. Here is a a great Romanic Comedy with Suspense to start. Head Over Heels (Marine, Book 1) by Susan Andersen Who said, "you can't go home again"? In Veronica Davis's case, who'd want to—especially when you hail fro...
I needed something light and fluffy on my ride and stuck this in the CD player. What I didn’t need was something that would annoy me or make me sad. I figured I was safe with this one. Somewhere deep within my brain were echoes of old reviews telling me how funny, how sexy and how fabulous this auth...
I really should create a "wtf-was-i-thinking" shelf for books that I constantly want to DNF, but don't. I disliked almost everything about this book, but I didn't stop reading it - I don't know why. I considered DNFing it every few pages.Veronica is not an endearing character. She cares for her niec...
I liked it, but it could have been something more.
Cooper and VeronicaBook was just ok. Some good scenes between H/h (if you know what I mean) but the overall plot was kind of dull. I found it incredibly annoying that Coop wouldn't just tell Veronica what he did for a living instead of making her take him how he was. That is just ridiculous. Nob...

Normally I can ignore those flaws as long as the hero and heroine are engaging. Sadly that was not the case with this book. I never warmed up to Veroni...
This story was just so-so. Twice as much time was spent on describing and mulling over things than advancing the plot. I soon started skimming all but dialogue but I did finish. Veronica returns as owner of family bar she despised and deals with bar manager ex-marine Cooper.
This is my first read by Susan Anderson, and I will seek out her other books! I totally enjoyed the sparks between Coop and Ronnie, lots of steamy stuff there! Interesting plot and characters, some suspense as well. There was even a secondary romance that was sweet.
