Note: While this is Book 2 in the series, it works just fine as a stand alone novel. Raylene is an expert thief and a wayward vampire. Her fixer Horace has an unusual job for her. He needs these rare yet odd relics stolen and he offers her a big financial incentive to take on the job. However, someo...

Raylene continued to have her sarcastic humor in this one. There was less Pepper and Domino. I'd say less Ian too, but he is central to the plot in this one, even if he didn't have much page-time. More Adrian though. He was definitely Raylene's competent sidekick which I liked to see. Good story and...

I just adore Raylene. There was nothing about this book I didn't love, except that there isn't another out yet!

A fun read, but nothing spectacular. It felt like Priest spent more time than was needed on banter and less than I would have liked on plotting. Things just seemed to come together a lot for the hero, as though she had a back pocket full of Deus Ex chips. Still, its a book full of enjoyable characte...

I'm torn. Torn like an old sweater.See, there are aspects of this book that I really loved. And yet, it took me forever to read Hellbent, and I skimmed much of the last third. For the dull bits and the parts that flat-out pissed me off, I want to give this two stars. For the good, three.Obviously, I...

Better than the first, a little bit of humor, but two areas I didn't like are:Raylene is trying to find a witch who has stolen some penis bones that Horace wants. The first time they meet Elizabeth the witch throws her from the roof of a mission. So when she finds out where Elizabeth is going to n...

I really enjoyed Cherie Priest’s Bloodshot, and couldn’t wait for the follow-up. Hellbent came out in September, and I FINALLY got my grubby mitts on it!drey’s thoughts:I really like Raylene Pendle. Vampire without a House, thief extraordinaire, soft-hearted towards others down on their luck, sassy ...

I love this series; I want more! I really hope the publisher decides to buy more of this series. Raylene is a very unusual POV character and the books are just crazy fun. It's urban fantasy without romance.
