Friederich Schiller (1759 to 1805) was a German poet, philosopher, historian, and playwright. In this work, Schiller provides a perceptive description of how a religious war became a political war which forever transformed the politics of Europe. The English translator of this edition was the Reverend Alexander James William Morrison (1806 to 1865).
