I read "Hogfather" twenty years ago. This is the first time I've re-read it since. The experience has shown me once again that no man can step into the same river, or in this case, book, twice. I'm not entirely the same person. These are not entirely the same times. So this is not the same book. ...

... and another yearly Christmas tradition right here, the annual Hogfather reread. Or relisten (thank Heaven for Nigel Planer's narration). Much has already been shared (and the whole book is one huge piece of quotable writing, of course), but anyway, this is one of my favorite bits not mentione...

Series: Discworld #20 A seasonal read that is just as fun as always, pretty much. There's lots of snarky commentary and adventures with the wizards, Susan, and the Death of Rats. I'm not sure what else to say, so I'll point you to my previous updates and a previous review. Previous updates: 65 %...

A fun read. No messy chapters to interrupt the flow or suggest that maybe you should stop now and go to bed. Just the occasional footnote that makes you stop everything and focus on it. So the Auditors - that mystical group of beings that have an aversion to life, belief, or well, anything that is...

I loved everything about this book, from the little fairies that kept popping into existence with a glingle-lingle-ling to Death playing the role of Santa in his very own way, to the Auditors, to the poker. Especially the poker. Hogfather is going to join with Dicken’s Christmas Carol and Dr. Seuss’...

I've been working on my novel non-stop in preparation for a beta read and subsequently haven't had time to update. Apologies for that and failing to let you all know how much I've been enjoying it. Like it's been said, it was a little confusing, but I really liked it and I don't believe my enjoyment...

I've lost count of how many times I've read Hogfather and this isn't my first time around with the audiobook either. It's pretty brilliant and I especially like the exchanges with the Death of Rats and the raven. I think I'll count it for the Hogswatch Night book for square 13 and save the holiday...

I was supposed to be doing this as a buddy read with everyone, but I've not been keeping my end up at all. The cold I thought I'd beaten down made a comeback at the end of last week, so I kept falling asleep every time I tried to get stuck into Hogfather. Which sounds like a terrible condemnation ...

IT GETS UNDER YOUR SKIN, LIFE, said Death, stepping forward, SPEAKING METAPHORICALLY, OF COURSE. IT’S A HABIT THAT’S HARD TO GIVE UP. ONE PUFF OF BREATH IS NEVER ENOUGH. YOU’LL FIND YOU WANT TO TAKE ANOTHER. When it comes to favourite Christmas reads, Terry Pratchett's Hogfather is as perfect as t...
