I had high expectations for this book after The Reader. Maybe something was lost in translation, but this was just painful to get through.

I genuinely enjoyed this book so I'm going to grant it 5 stars without thinking the second time. It's a really good story, the main character is easy to understand and the plot is not extremely complicated, but not too simple either. The ending sentence I loved, It's a really hard thing to look for...
