My review of the book can be found here. I've been fortunate enough to get to listen to some of the other Honor Harrington audiobooks narrated by Madelyn Buzzard. Sadly, these don't seem to be offered on Audible, as her voice works better with me then the one from On Basilisk Station. Buzzard hand...

When I first read a few of the reviews for this book I was a bit apprehensive, because of the belief system that the planetary people shared. I'm not into the whole god stuff and I can't say I'm a fan of having it incorporated into my reads either, but this was done almost exquisitely and I found my...

Basilisk Station'. While Honor of the Queen falls a little short of its progenitor, it is still a solid read. I enjoy military fiction, whether contemporary or sci-fi, when it is well done; and 'On Basilisk Station’ was done well. This story is a bit less straight forward and has more drama attach...

Not as strong as the first book in character development and ends with an ending that jumped the shark. All you have to do to get Manticore's highest honor is be brave and get lucky? REALLY? It just strained my credulity to have so many honors given to her at this point. Leave somewhere for her to g...

Luckily this book in the series also had a sufficient focus on the actual action and on Harrington herself that the political BS was tolerable. It is walking a tight line though.

I could talk about the book's excellent discussion about culture and differences between cultures, very revelent today. I could talk about the wonderful action sequences. I could talk about the good writing. But instead . . . Never underestimate a woman, espeically one with a tree cat.

This was my first foray into the Honor Harrington series. I got this one instead of the first in the series (On Basilisk Station) because it was the one available to me more easily. HOTQ is a book about a young Captain in the employ of the navy of the "Star Kingdom of Manticore" (SKM). Manticore is...

This is the second book on the Honor Harrington series. After the events from Basilisk Station, the Manticorans realize that war with the Peeps (The People's Republic if Haven) is an inevitability. They decided to seek a strategic alliance. The queen sends a envoy of ships and diplomats to the smal...
