„The Hot Zone“ has to be the most terrifying book I have ever read in my entire life. Forget all the horror novels out there and just read the first few chapters of this book about the origins of Ebola and what this virus does to the human body. Deserves reputation as competent account of Ebola outbreak of 96, nothing spectacular in style but reader's digest level competency, 4/5

I would put this book on the horror shelf but it is a true story. Loved it and I don't usually read non-fiction but I do recommend this book. It is the true story of the ebola virus and how it almost escaped and boy were we lucky. Great read, it stays with you long after you are finished.

This book is why I'll probably never travel to Africa. Ebola is some scary, scary shit, and this book was better than any horror novel.

About 3/4ths of the way through this book I felt like I was still reading background and build-up and I realized that it was a different book from what I was expecting. I was waiting for it to live up to its reviews, especially a quote by Stephen King on the back saying that it was "one of the most ...
