Hunter Liguore is an American writer with degrees in history and writing. A long-time naturalist and activist, she has written on a variety of topics that promote compassionate awareness towards the environment, indigenous rights, and endangered species. She's been named the 2015 Writer-in-Residence at the Edwin Way Teale Nature Preserve. A two-time Pushcart-Prize nominee, her work has appeared in various publications, including: Bellevue Literary Review, Irish Times, New Plains Review, Writer's Chronicle, Masters Review, DESCANT, The MacGuffin, Rattling Wall: Pen USA, and an upcoming wildlife anthology from Ashland Creek Press. Her story, "The Design of One's Day," won honorable mention in the Austin Chronicle Short Story Contest, 2015. She is the first place recipient of the 2015 Ethnographic Fiction competition sponsored by the American Anthropological Association. She teaches undergraduate and graduate writing in New England. Her forthcoming novel, Next Breath, is represented by Regal Literary Agency.
