A single lady in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a suitor Margaret de Lacey has accepted her unmarried state with dignity, if not delight. She had no suitors when she was young and starry-eyed, though regrettably poor, and it’s unlikely any man will court her now that she’s older, wiser, and still just as penniless. Until, that is, her brother unexpectedly inherits the dukedom of Durham and settles an enormous dowry on her, making her the most eligible heiress in town. No gentleman in London is more in need of a wealthy bride than Rhys Corwen, Earl of Dowling. He contrives an introduction to Margaret because of her dowry, but she swiftly sets him right: no fortune hunter will win her heart or her hand. Far from put off, Rhys is intrigued. Interested. Entranced. And soon the only thing he needs more than Margaret’s fortune . . . is her love.

Series: The Truth About the Duke
This was sweet. It was two people falling for each other. No big "misunderstanding." Simple. Sweet. I looked at the synopsis of the next book hoping it was going to be Francis's story, but the other books in this series are about his children. But I'm still interested.
Sweet little novella about a rather plain spinster who suddenly becomes a sought-after heiress at the age of 30, when her older brother unexpectedly becomes a duke. She's very determined that she won't fall for any fortune hunters, and makes her brother agree that she will have final say in whomever ...
I would have given this story another star if it had been longer :) Cute sweet story, the characters and story were well written. Loved Rhys!
Lovely novella that is a prequel to Linden's One Night in London and following books. Sweet but sexy romance between 30-ish Margaret and Rhys, the Earl of Dowling, who may or may not want to marry her for her inheritance. Terrific hero and heroine.
