So this is the last in the Xenogenesis or Lilth's Brood series written by Octavia E. Butler.I liked this one a lot. We once again focus on just one POV throughout the entire novel. We have Lilth's son Jodahs who is born an Oankali construct (humans and Oankali breed with the help of an Oankali calle...

I really liked this series. The books were fast reads and they held my interest from beginning to end. Although the books were only around 250 pages each, the stories had plenty of meat. I like books that compel me to think about them even when I’m doing other things, and these books were like that....

This one was a bit slower and lacked a little bit of the sharpness of the previous two volumes. Still got plenty of food for though.

The last book in the Lilith's Brood trilogy was not as exciting as I'd hoped. The first two books were very gripping, and I could not put them down. This one, however, was so much the same as the previous book in the series that I was almost bored. It was like I'd seen it all before, so it didn't...

The last volume of the mind blowing, thought provoking Lilith’s Brood series (I prefer the original name Xenogenesis myself, it has a nice sci-fi ring to it).Jodahs the protagonist of this book is another offspring of Lilith Iyapo. The least human of the series' central characters, especially after ...

Lilith is still in this book but much, much older although she looks the same age. One of her children has discovered he's an ooloi even though they were prohibited from having ooloi because of the potential for unintentional changes. Instead of sending their child to the ship to probably live a v...

In a lot of ways, the slightest of the series. Certainly physically it's the shortest. And the plot feels like it retreads territory from previous books. But thematically (and for what it reveals about the oankali), I think it's necessary to close the series.Harking back to Lilith early in the first...

Super good. Maybe my favorite of the series. Kind of the most humanistic and relatable, which is maybe odd given that it's not written from a human POV. Kind of want to go back and read them all right in a row now.

I read this book years ago (like many others on my bookshelves.) Before giving this book rating, I must re read this book, which will not be difficult chore.
