Less than two months into 2018, I've hit my first hard DNF/had to abandon at a bit less than 50%.I was very excited to read this. I love poetry and psych hospital settings when done well. The hyper-emotional style of much sick-lit fits well with teenagers, so all of this sounded worth a chance to me...

Basically, a lot of bad things keep happening irl and it has seriously hindered my reading. I don't really feel up to writing a lengthy review or anything, but I will say that I enjoyed this book. I adored the three main characters and loved watching them grow. I love Ellen Hopkins's writing styl...

This was a great book. I have read a lot of Hopkins and I love everything that I've read so far. Although, this is one of my least favorite of her works. That's mostly because the plot is a little predictable but it's still powerful. The last few lines were my favorite. That perfect placement of the...

This was so good, but the end was really sad. I kept hoping for Connor to recover but I got the feeling it wasn't happening. It would have been unrealistic for him to be better by the end of the book, but still the jump took me by surprise. I loved his character and wished the best for him, same for...

Any book that makes me cry deserves five stars. This was completely, utterly heartbreaking and I don't think I'm in a state to write clever, reasonable review right now. I also don't think I can say anything without spoiling it but this was just perfect. I started reading it when I was feeling like ...

I appreciate what Hopkins has tried to do here but I'm not in the mood for self-destructive teenage behavior right now. The 45% I read was disturbing and it looks like things only get uglier in the second half. Plus, the verse makes the book more depressing and difficult to read.Hopefully, I'll come...

I listened to the audio of this book and the 3 narrators were fantastic. This book deals with 3 very different, yet not so different, teenagers in treatment for extreme depression. The author did a beautiful job of describing everything from their mood swings to their feelings about their parents. T...

Another good read from Ellen Hopkins. The writing as ever was beautiful. The way she can say so much in so few words always amazes me. I will say that I predicted the ending about 2/3 into this book, but I don't think it was intended to be a big twist ending.
