Honor's brother Finn has died in Iraq. Three days after she heard about the passing of Finn, she received a letter from him, which she left unopened until the night of his funeral. The letter, Finn's last wish, includes tickets to a concert of a famous country singer/pop star Kyra Kelly in Californi...

I really enjoy Jessi Kirby's writing. I picked up In Honor because I had read Golden and loved it. While I didn't love this one as much as Golden, I still really liked it. I liked Honor, even if she could be a little annoying and childish at times, and I liked Rusty, even though he could he a little...

I was in the need of something light yesterday, to get me through this head cold I developed. The emotion and all the memories that were told throughout In Honor probably shouldn't be considered "light", but YA contemporaries are my comfort reads, and this one did just that. I really enjoy road trip...

In Honor broke my heart right from the very beginning. Honor and Rusty were so completely broken by Finn’s death that it made me so unbelievably sad for them. Grief and loss is a terrible thing and neither knew what to do with it. Not to mention the fact that there was a lot of resentment between th...

Wow, what a quick read. Everything felt just as it should be. I wish I had connected with Honor a little bit more, but despite that, this was a good read. I shed more than a couple tears and read it all in one sitting.

To see full review click here.I wasn't expecting much from this one to be honest. I was expecting it to be cute enough, but not great. Surprisingly, it turned out to be sort of refreshing. The plot wasn't that refreshing because honestly you get what you expect. It's a road trip where you realize ...

See more of my reviews on Birth of a New Witch! After the amazeballs, sobworthy novel named Golden, I knew I needed Kirby's two other novels. This was the easier one to get between it and Moonglass, so I bought it recently. I was also in the mood for something short, so I started reading this when I ...

Due to copy and paste, formatting has been lost.In Honor is one of those books that I've been waiting to read forever. So when I finally got the chance, I snapped it up like it was a cupcake. Seriously, I wanted it that badly. (I have a weakness for cupcakes, but who doesn't?) I ended up really enjo...

Even the subject matter screamed to me: read me. I am a sucker for emotional books like this, and the road trip is an added bonus. It is so important that it talks about the death of a marine, and how the family feels after the loss from the one they loved that made such a sacrifice. I know this is ...
