شعرت بالألم كثيراً عند قرائتي لهذه الرواية، ربما لاجل إعتبارها ان التعذيب الوحشي واجب مقدس، و بالألم آكثر كلما روى الضابط كيفية تطبيق حكم الإعدام أو بـ آلة يدعونها "آلة المعجزة" التي تبدأ بتعذيب المحكوم بشكل مقزز و بقسوة على مدار 12 ساعة وهو يعاني، أي يموت ببطء تحت التعذيب و الإستلذاذ الآخرين بمشاهد...
