In a laboratory deep under the Antarctic ice, Wentik is experimenting with mind-altering drugs. Suddenly he is transported into the Brazilian jungle of the 22nd century.
The world has been devastated by nuclear weapons and poison gas. Only South America has survived, yet vestiges of one of the war gases remain to create 'The Disturbances' and threaten the social order. Wentik must return to his own time to find out how the gas and its antidote were produced. But he is returned to the wrong time slot.
