From the man who coined the term "steampunk", an early example of the genre. Young Mr. Dower inherits his father's watch shop. Unfortunately, the Dowers never had much contact, and Young Mr. Dower has no idea how to repair the watches people bring to him. His shop is on the brink of collapse when ...
I'm not sure why this didn't grab me. It has a lot of elements that I usually love. I think the story was just too fractured and even though it all made sense in the end, it took too long to come together and I felt lost most of the time.

I'd probably give it 3.5 stars - the ideas and theories presented in the novel is really quite fascinating and, of course, to be reading one of the first steampunk novels is a great thing. The Victorian-esque style of writing took a while to adjust to, but it was really done well.I have the 2011 ver...

However, as I progressed through the book I started to get more and more into the plot and the characters.Jeter does a phenomenal job of painting a scen...
