Dr. Ingrid Mattson is an internationally recognized Muslim religious leader, a scholar of Islamic Studies and an interfaith activist. You can find more of her writings at: http://ingridmattson.org/. Dr. Mattson currently holds the London and Windsor Community Chair of Islamic Studies at Huron University College in Canada. Earlier she founded the Islamic Chaplaincy program and directed the Macdonald Center for Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations at Hartford Seminary (CT). She is the author of many publications on Islamic ethics and the academic best-seller The Story of the Qur'an: Its History and Place in Muslim Life. From 2001-2010 she served as vice-president, then president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA); she is the first woman to be elected to these positions. Dr. Mattson is frequently consulted by the media, government and civic organizations and has served as an expert witness. She holds a PhD from the University of Chicago and is the recipient of numerous awards and honorary degrees.
