The red sun balances on the highest ramparts of the mountains, and in its waning light, the foothills appear to be ablaze. - first sentence Chyna is a psychology student sleeping at her friend's house when she hears a noise in the middle of the night. A serial killer is in the house and Chyna man...
I went back and forth between 3.5 and 4 stars for this one and rounded up mostly because the narration was well done. I spent a good chunk of the first many chapters convinced that this was going to be just like the French movie High Tension. There were so many similarities but it turns out it wa...
I think I have sadly hit my limit with Koontz. My first book by this author was AMAZING. The second was just as amazing. Then somewhere down the road, the villains all started to meld together. The villains became a little predictable for me because they all shared the same qualities. Now that ...
When I was younger, I devoured Koontz's novels, reading close to a dozen, although it has been over a decade since I had last read his books. I remember the plot and characters of very few of them. Two stand out to me. One is my favorite, Watchers, whose most memorable character is a golden retrieve...

Intense indeed.

This was my first Koontz and I LOVED it! I've read this like 10 times and it never gets old! I still find myself on the edge of my seat sweating at each turn of events! I think its probably been close to ten years ago I read it for the first time too!
Just good Dean Koontz. To be honest, I read this book years and years ago, but can remember how much I loved it. It was around the time when I started to read DK and I just remember going out and stocking up on his books.
The name is definitely deserved. This is a very intense book. The beginning had me captivated, the middle was a bit of a lull but the ending picked right back up. Mr. Vess is an interesting character but reading from his POV is exhausting. If I would have read the word sensations one more time I mig...
