Interesting premise à la JCP with one mildly neurotic main character and a seemingly more stable one. Does that remind me a bit of Victor and Jacob? Yes. Does it bother me? I'm not quite sure how to review this, since it's basically just the first segment of a story; it's like trying to review one chapter of a novel. The writing is good, the characters are interesting, and I'm intrigued enough by the plot to want to continue.
3.5 rounded up to 4, because of the intriguing premise and it succeeded in hooking me in to the rest of the series. :) Missing the romance though, so hopefully that will be developed.
