Ever since the conclusion of Ranma 1/2, Rumiko Takahashi's many fans have been eagerly awaiting her next long, serialized project. The wait is over with the first volume of Inu-Yasha. The story begins in Feudal Japan (technically, the Warring States period of the Muromachi era) where a mythical creature named Inu-Yasha, half dog and half boy, pillages a small town in search of a magical jewel. He is stopped by the village priestess who takes the jewel with her to the afterlife. Cut to modern times where Kagome (a splitting image of the village priestess) finds herself lost in a time portal and runs into Inu-Yasha himself. Her reaction is priceless: "Is he a demon or a junior high school kid?" This is the magic of Rumiko Takahashi--she has woven an intriguing historical fantasy that is filled with horror, humor, and romance in a way that most people would not think possible. --Jim Pascoe

Series: InuYasha (#1)
So there's a few manga series I'm planning on reading through. For now I'm going to try review two volumes at once, to cut down on the amount of manga reviews, since I assume it's not for everyone, and also to give me a bit more to talk about. I've never read any Inuyasha. I did watch the series w...
I like Rumiko Takahashi's art style, especially in One Pound Gospel, a manga I love. I am looking to find a manga where I can advance more than the required first 4 volumes. I hope I've found the right one in Inuyasha. It may be a shoujo, it may be a shounen. It has adventure, time travel (yay!), ...
Yeah, I'm taking this series out of the library. I don't want to pay, like, five hundred bucks for the whole thing. And while I like it - it's funny, and I remember the TV show so it's got the nostalgia factor - it's not one of my favorites. It just doesn't have the psychological depth of eithe...
NO PUEDO HACER UN REVIEW OBJETIVO DE ESTO. I'M SORRY. FEELS FEELS FEELS.
Despite the fact that this manga ran too long and effectively fell apart at the end I cannot deny that the first 20 volumes or so are simply amazing, especially the first one. It is just way too amazing, the story is rich and fresh for a western audience, the settings exotic and full of possibiliti...
