The first stories Isabelle Merlin remembers are the traditional French fairytales told to her by her French grandmother. Later, she heard family stories, which proved to her that magic and romance and terror don't only appear in fairytales: like the story of the beautiful ancestor who caught the eye of the Sun-King, Louis XIV; the story of the wily ancestor who went from being a poor peasant to a multi-millionaire; or the story of the chain-rattling ghost that haunted the family home deep in the green French countryside. It's no wonder she grew up with a head full of stories and a burning desire to be a writer. Her first book, Three Wishes, came out in Australia in 2008. It has since been released in the US, in the UK, in France, Germany and Poland. Her second book, Pop Princess, from 2009, is also available in Australia, the US< UK, and Poland. Her third book, Cupid's Arrow(20009 also) was released in Australia, the UK and US, while her fourth and latest, Bright Angel(2010) is also published in Australia, and soon to be available in the USA and UK. These four books are all set in France and inspire themselves with stories from that marvelloys country. She is at present at work on a three-volume series called Trinity, which is set in Russia and is inspired by Russian fairytale, myth, legend and history.
