Jack L. Nasar (FAICP, PhD 1979 Man-Environment Relations, Pennsylvania State University, Masters in Urban Planning, New York University, BA Architecture, Washington University) is an environmental psychologist, Professor City & Regional Planning, The Ohio State University and editor Journal of Planning Literature. Outside of academics, he enjoys skiing, swimming, travel, playing blues/rock/jazz piano, and reading great literature, and creative writing. More importantly, he has taught his dog more than 100 tricks. He has written or edited seven books, and written more than 80 scholarly articles on human aspects of the physical environment (including studies of environmental perception, cognition, meaning, fear, crime, spatial behavior, post-occupancy evaluation, and behavior change). An invited lecturer around the world, his honors include the EDRA Achievement award, EDRA Career Award, Lumley Award for Excellence in Research (College of Engineering, Ohio State University), Ethel Chattel Fellowship (University of Sydney), Fellow American Institute of Certified Planners, and the Distinguished Alumni Award from the School of Architecture at Washington University, St. Louis.
