This is a graphic novel adaptation of the tale Roland tells of his youth to the Ka-tet during Wizard and Glass, which has always stood out as one of the highlights of the series to me.The artwork is of a very high standard and the style suits the tone perfectly. Naturally, many of the details are me...
The graphic novel version of the flashback that takes up a majority of Dark Tower 4 is a worthy version, slightly different and a little quicker meaning the characters outside the main group don't tend to get a lot of page time. But what's there is both faithful and engaging, with Jae Lee's art prov...
Along with the previous graphic novel I read, The Gunslinger Born was another clearanced item at the same comic shop, this time for only $2. I was surprised, so I asked the clerk if I was reading that correctly, and he told me that Marvel had over-printed the book and gave them about 50 copies, fre...
The Gunslinger story told chronologically, this series starts with material pulled from book IV, Wizard and Glass, the same book that ended my interest in the Dark Tower. If you liked book IV, I see no reason why you wouldn't like this.
Good art, typical gut wrenching King plot points and a good beginning to the Gunslinger saga.
The only issue I have with this graphic adaptation of the Dark Tower series is timing. Obviously when King wrote his thousand page story of Roland's youth he had a little more time to work with. The relationship between Roland and Susan seems too rushed, there isn't enough tension before the rela...

I found the storyline a bit confusing, King uses language that is unique to the Gunslinger, so perhaps it would be more e...
Thought there was going to be new material in these pages. Instead, it's a graphic re-telling of Roland's past as seen in the pages of Wizard and Glass (DT #4).
My second and last attempt at trying to enjoy The Dark Tower series has been a frustrating read that has lasted three tiring and frustrating months.Maybe I just don't "get" it, like how I don't "get" [b:The Stand|149267|The Stand|Stephen King|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1213131305s/149267.jpg|1742...
