JAMES GILBERT is a federal administrative law judge in Washington, D.C. Prior to his appointment, Gilbert was in private practice and was active in numerous national, state, and local political campaigns. He served as a campaign strategist and fundraiser for several candidates for public office. Gilbert currently lives in Washington, D.C. with his partner Michael Pollock and their Basset Hounds, Brandy and Aloysius. THE ELECT is Gilbert's first novel. He is currently at work on his second novel.
