An interesting take on a classic fairy tale. A more balanced approach that makes the characters more realistic and more interesting makes the fairy tale more interesting. However, the approach leads to a limited story that suffers from underdevelopment.
This was fun short story showing a bit of the history of Amery, Lola, and Lochie. The story takes place in a summer camp - something Amery is being allowed to do for the first time. When a camper goes missing it gets pretty interesting. This was a good short story and gave a bit of background for th...
This contemporary science fiction was very subtle at first. We know that Amery is part of a special program, but we aren't entirely sure what it is at first. Her life and history are revealed in pieces as we need to know them. She seems to be quite the average teenage girl - boy troubles, school tro...
Amery is on her way to summer camp for the first time, as her overprotective parents have kept her at home. However, hints of something different about her are given with mentions of "The Department", "The FBI", and the strange triangle symbol that she has on her wrist and almost always keeps covere...
Not what I expected from the title. This is the story of Cinderella, as told by one of her "wicked stepsisters." However, Cinderella isn't evil - maybe a little self-absorbed, but what teenager isn't? Also her stepmother and stepsisters tried her best to be friends/family with Cinderella, but Cind...
Cinderella is not evil - she's just a drama queen.

It was an interesting idea to write from Cinderella's stepsister's perspective. But since all the stepsister in question seemed to be capable of doing was whining about how ugly she was and how Cinderella was a spoiled brat, it got old fast. I don't really appreciate it how her part of the family th...
Similar to Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Gregory Maguire. A good story that draws from the Disney version of Cinderella.(Same names) I found a few errors like Cinderella's first dress described as butter yellow but the one that arrives is pink. Ended happily for all the characters.
