Dr. Jan Ray was born in Bay City, Michigan, and grew up in Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Central Michigan University, as well as Colorado State University, Smith College, University of South Florida, United States International University, and West Texas A&M University.Dr. Ray has taught first grade, second grade, third grade, and fifth grade in the public schools. She has also served as a speech and language pathologist (K-12), teacher of the hearing impaired (PK-8), and assistant principal at the elementary school level.Dr. Ray has written more than a dozen books for classroom teachers . . . all designed to help them integrate educational technology into the curriculum in an instructionally sound manner. She currently lives with her husband, Bob Ray, in Kea'au, Hawaii, and teaches at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
