Jane Davis lives in Carshalton, Surrey with her Formula 1 obsessed, star-gazing, beer-brewing partner, surrounded by growing piles of paperbacks, CDs and general chaos. Her first novel, Half-truths and White Lies, won the Daily Mail First Novel Award and was described by Joanne Harris as 'A story of secrets, lies, grief and, ultimately, redemption, charmingly handled by this very promising new writer.' She has since published three further novels, 'These Fragile Things', 'I Stopped Time', 'A Funeral for an Owl' and 'An Unchoreographed Life'. Compulsion Reads agree that she is 'one to watch' describing her as 'a phenomenal writer whose ability to create well-rounded characters that are easy to relate to feels effortless.' She is also receiving critical acclaim from her fellow authors. JJ Marsh of Triskele Books wrote, 'Jane Davis is an extraordinary writer, whose deft blend of polished prose and imaginative intelligence makes you feel in the safest of hands.' Jane is passionate about hiking and photography. When she is not writing, you will find her half way up a mountain with a camera in hand. My 100th review and I’ve been mulling this over for a few weeks. I’m an admirer of indy author, Jane Davis’ work, so much so that I bought my Kindle copy in advance and looked forward to the launch. The author’s customary style is again deployed to good effect and the narrative is engaging and draws...

She span away from me, a sleek starling becoming one with the swirling, churning mass. Something in the way she moved - her hands raised above her head to part the crowd - made me wish I had a camera to frame her, just as she was. I blinked and, in that instant, it was as if I was experiencing a fla...

For example, who knew “one in ten run away from home before they reach the age of sixteen, a m...
