Janet Nuzum Myers was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia. She earned a Master's Degree in Education from Ohio University. Before her marriage, Janet lived in New York City and worked as a flight attendant. She then began teaching at the elementary school level. She taught first though fifth grades, plus worked for two years as a high school guidance counselor. While teaching fifth grade, she started writing high-interest nonfiction for children. Her first five books were published by educational publishers and used in school reading programs. Janet then discovered she enjoyed creating riddles, and soon had two books of riddles published. Due to her husband's career, they have lived in OH, PA, TX, CA, and IL. Janet and her husband have two grown children, and recently retired to their home state of WV. They live with their two rescued cats, and Janet continues to write.
