Are you a fan of the When Calls The Heat series on Hallmark. Did you know what it based off of the books Jeannette Oke wrote? It may not be exactly the same but it based off it and I really do enjoy it.I had not read her books I wanted to. I was able to do so with Where the Courage Calls. It about w...
[spoiler] I'm not a fan of the description on the back of this book. "Beth discovers that [Wynn] also has determined never to marry." Okay, we don't get to that part until page 164 (out of 221). It doesn't make sense for this information to be made known before reading it. To make things worse, for ...
This is a nice wrap-up to the series. Belinda's way too perfect, but it's a sweet book. It reminded me how difficult it was in the past for people to move away from their families. In recent years, telephones, email, Skype and more convenient transportation have made it a lot less painful. *Review...
Joshua Jones is 13 years old and living in the mid-West Plains area of the US in what I am guessing is the turn of the century or early 20th century. Sounds vague? Yeah, I am still not sure where and when the story takes place as the author doesn't seem to want to nail down those pesky details. The ...
This review is/might be for both of the final books, since I read them back to back and I'm having trouble separating the two. I felt a little cheated learning that the last two books in this series focus on Elizabeth and Wynn's children instead of them. We do see Elizabeth and Wynn a little bit, ...
This review is/might be for both of the final books, since I read them back to back and I'm having trouble separating the two. As I said in my review of Beyond the Gathering Storm I didn't feel all that connected to Christine. I thought she was a bit foolish in the last book. If a man hits you tha...
I read the first one of these in 2012. I liked it, but not enough to continue the series at the time. It got pushed back and I forgot about it for a while. I've restarted several series that I started in 2012 this year (Amelia Grey's Rogues' Dynasty, Annette Blair's Rogue's Club and this series)....
Nothing really to say about it. The romance seemed a little sudden, with them only having had a few conversations before suddenly deciding they couldn't live apart. I don't think I'll be reading any more of this series, but you never know.
Another awesome book in the saga. I liked the character development in this one. In particular the way Missie copes and deals with things not being quite what she expects.
As much as I adore this book I can't give it 5 stars. It felt way too rushed. I'd have loved to see Missie's story especially as a standalone book building up and having a bit more substance to it than everything working out so quickly right at the end.
