I currently live in New York City, and I've been reading science fiction and fantasy for just about as long as I've been reading. My tastes are fairly varied and eclectic, but I'd say favorites are military and dystopian science fiction and epic fantasy, usually a little bit gritty. I write a lot of science fiction with military themes, but also other SF and some fantasy as well. I like complex characters and lots of backstory and action. Honestly, I think world-building is the heart of science fiction and fantasy, and since that is what I've always been drawn to as a reader, that is what I write.I've been an investor and non-fiction writer for a long time, a fiction author more recently. When I'm not writing I enjoy traveling, running, hiking, reading. I love hearing from readers and always answer emails. I think you stop growing as a writer if you stop listening to readers.Among other things, I write the bestselling Crimson Worlds series.Join my mailing list at http://www.crimsonworlds.com for updates on new releases.

The inevitable War with the oppressive, communist inspired, Union has begun and to no ones surprise it does not start well for the Confederation. That is what you get when you divert military budget to short sighted buying of votes. It is a very...

Duel in the Dark is a good start of a new series, Blood on the Stars, from Jay Allan. It is an action filled story which essentially is a prelude to an all out war. It has good world building, enjoyable characters and plenty of action. The underlying premise of the story is the all too common one, in...

I bought this book as soon as it came out since I have quite liked the rest of the series, especially The Line Must Hold, but then I have hesitated to actually start reading it. Why? Well, I was pretty sure that I was not really going to like the story itself very much…and I was right. This book is a...

As can be deduced from the title as well as the book blurb this book follows on from the previous one and now Cain and the rest of humanity must make a stand to stop the First Imperium’s advance. The death of Cain’s best friend, General Jax, as well as the many others that have died under his comman...
